We have started work on the preparation of a basic ecophysiographic study for the city of Opole

In June 2024, we signed a contract with the City of Opole to carry out the ‘Basic ecophysiographic study for Opole’. The purpose of the study is to ensure the conditions for maintaining natural balance and rational management of environmental resources when determining the arrangements in the municipality’s planning documents.

The amendment to the Act on spatial planning and development, led to the replacement of the hitherto binding studies of conditions and directions for spatial development with general plans of the municipalities. The development of a new planning document, which will have the rank of a local legal act, is an important premise for a comprehensive look at the state and functioning of the urban environment. This is particularly important in an era of ever-increasing urbanisation and climate change, which has a noticeable impact on the depletion of environmental resources. Rational spatial planning should minimise the impact of such threats and ensure that all elements of the environment are respected. The document we are developing is intended to help city authorities adapt the function, structure and intensity of land use to environmental conditions.
