AN EXPERT
Our company specializes in comprehensive environmental inventories. Inventory is one of the key elements of assessing the environmental impact of a project. It consists in detailed identification and description of natural resources in a given area. The inventory includes the flora and fauna of the area, as well as inanimate elements.

In addition to stand-alone inventory projects, the natural inventory is a component of the EIA procedure and is an appendix to the Environmental Impact Report for the project.
We have completed over 300 projects

What is and what is a nature inventory?

A nature inventory is an inventory of animate elements (flora and fauna) in an area. Natural inventories include plants, natural habitats, fungi, lichens, invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and bats. A comprehensive nature inventory should last at least a year and cover all seasons and the full growing season of plants.

We can divide the work on the nature inventory into three main stages.
  • Stage I is the intimate work, which consists of a thorough reconnaissance of the study area even before the field work begins.
  • Stage II is the heart of the inventory, i.e. field work. Field work should cover the entire growing season of plants and include all seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter), and should be tailored to the phenology of species and particular groups of animals.
  • Stage III final study. The final study consists of a detailed description of the results of the inventory and the preparation of a valorization of the studied area. If the natural inventory was prepared for the planned project, then the impact of the project on the inventoried elements of the environment, especially protected elements, is determined. If a potential negative impact is found, on a particular environmental element, detailed minimizing measures are given in the final study.

Who can conduct a nature inventory?

Nature inventories in our company are carried out by specialists with many years of experience. Each of them is an excellent expert in his field.
Our team includes a botanist, phytosociologist, dendrologist, entomologist, herpetologist, teriologist, ornithologist, chiropterologist and ichthyologist.

Botanist

He specializes in plant and habitat inventories. He is one of the main experts performing nature inventories. He recognizes protected and endangered plant species and makes an inventory of all species found in a given area.

Phytosociologist

Like a botanist, he knows plants like no one else. He is an expert on natural habitats. He can perfectly determine which, of the habitats are the most valuable and subject to protection.

Dendrologist

Tree and shrub expert. Performs a comprehensive examination of trees. Determines their parameters and health status. Qualifies trees for felling and indicates maintenance measures. Indispensable in any road project and any other in which planned infrastructure collides with trees and shrubs.

Entomologist

A specialist in invertebrates. He is the one who knows “what in the grass squeaks”. He recognizes the composition of the entomofauna of the studied area from butterflies to beetles. Very often he participates in the supervision of the felling of old stately trees.

Herpetologist

Expert on amphibians and reptiles. Identifies their breeding sites (water bodies) and migration routes and wintering grounds. Indispensable for linear projects that may be an insurmountable barrier for this group of animals.

Teriologist

Specialist dealing with mammals. In addition to inventories, performs wildlife surveillance and monitoring of mammal mortality and monitoring of animal crossings. Key in linear investments (roads, railroads).

Ornithologist

Bird expert. Indispensable for any comprehensive nature inventory. In addition to bird inventories, which last all year round, he participates in wildlife surveillance (mainly during tree felling and when conducting work during the breeding season) and conducts monitoring. He is indispensable in carrying out expert opinions on thermal modernization of buildings, construction of wind farms or photovoltaic farms.

Chiropterologist

He specializes in bats. In his work, he uses an ultrasonic detector to record the echolocation signals of bats. He also searches for bat hibernation sites. Like an ornithologist, he participates in nature surveillance (mainly during tree felling.) He is indispensable during expert opinions on thermal modernization of buildings.

Ichthyologist

Specialist in fish and lampreys. Comprehensively investigates ichthyofauna found in rivers and reservoirs.

NATURE MONITORING

Unlike a nature inventory, nature monitoring is the regular observation and measurement of selected elements of living nature, carried out to obtain information about changes in these elements over time.
According to the Law of April 16, 2004 on Nature Protection, nature monitoring consists in observing and assessing the status and ongoing changes in the components of biological and landscape diversity, including types of natural habitats and species of interest to the Community, with particular emphasis on types of natural habitats and species of priority importance, as well as assessing the effectiveness of applied methods of nature protection.

Like the inventory, nature monitoring in our company is carried out by experts with many years of experience: botanist, phytosociologist, entomologist, ichthyologist, herpetologist, ornithologist, hiroptterologist and teriologist.

INVENTORY OF GREENERY

Our company performs comprehensive greenery inventories and, more specifically, dendrological inventories. This is a study that consists in determining the exact number of trees and shrubs located in a given area. In addition to the quantitative inventory, the species name of the trees and shrubs is given, as well as the basic parameters: trunk circumference measured at a height of 130 cm and 5 cm; tree height, tree crown diameter, area occupied by shrubs.

For many planned projects, carrying out a dendrological inventory will help determine the number of trees to be removed and the number of trees to be preserved, protected or replanted. A dendrological inventory is essential in the case of necessary cutting of trees and shrubs.
